Plastic and wood are the two main materials used in pallet construction. And while wood has the edge in terms of a cheaper purchasing price, plastic pallets are continually gaining ground among far-sighted industrialists and shippers alert to its many advantages -not least durability and long-run economy.

Lighter weight and easier transportation.
Plastic pallets weigh less than their hardwood counterparts – a big plus when you consider that a 35% weight advantage means lower shipping fee costs!

Durability.
Plastic pallets are significantly more solid compared with splinter-prone wood. Design consistency and solidness gives them a massive advantage.

Cleanliness.
Shipping frowns on products which easily attract termites and other tiny organisms that can destroy the overall appearance of products.
Take one example: if you are shipping fruits and vegetables it is unhygienic to place these products into a container that can undergo fungus or bacteria build-up because of moisture.
Plastic pallets can be cleaned easily with water, while the water cleaning of wood pallets can attract several organisms that can damage and even destroy the products.

Flexibility.
Plastic pallets are vastly more flexible than wooden pallets. For example, pallets made of plastic are equipped with dividers that can hold several products in a single container, whereas wooden pallets can only hold one product with a single unit.

Safety.
With safety a major factor for consideration, here is another area where plastic pallets have a pronounced lead. Nail-less and with no sharp edges and splintering issues.

Plastic pallets are lighter, easy to transport, clean and hygienic, more flexible and safer to use. And these are features that will save you money on budget!
